Lately, life feels like it might never slow down. But I finally got a chance to breathe this weekend when we decided to go on a last-minute road trip up to the mountains. Daniel and I hit the road to Kings Canyon National Park with my twin sister and her husband early Sunday morning. Since moving here from Kansas, they hadn’t made it up to the mountains yet, so we decided that needed to be rectified!
We drove up Generals Highway to Buena Vista Trailhead, a short 2-mile trail that lives up to it’s name. The easy-going hike has a variety of rock formations that we took upon ourselves to explore. Once at the top, we drank in the view of the rolling valley of pine trees and ventured as close to the edge as we could possibly get (except for my brother-in-law, who, as a true Kansan, is terrified of heights).
Even though it was just a quick trip, it was so refreshing to get outside and enjoy God’s beautiful creation with good company. As things start to get more hectic with the upcoming holiday season, remember to make time for yourself and enjoy life a little 🙂For more places to explore in Kings Canyon National Park, check out my previous post here!
